Mali Losinj is the largest settlement on the island, situated on the south side of Losinj Bay. Owing to this position, it has become a significant maritime and trading, and more recently, a tourist centre. It is located in the Augusta cove, the largest closed cove of these islands. With 7,000 inhabitants, Mali Losinj is nowadays the largest island city in the Adriatic. Today, Mali Losinj is among the main tourist destinations in the Adriatic, well-known in all European tourist circles, as can be seen by many loyal visitors, who return every year.

Mali Losinj was awarded Tourism Champion in 2007 and Silver Flower of Europe in 2009.
