The Trakoscan Castle is located in the North-West part of Croatia among Macelj, Ravna Gora and Strahinjcica. It was built in the 13th century as a minor fort for surveilling the route from Ptuj towards the Bednja valley. From 1584 and all the way up to the World War II, it was owned by the noble Draskovic family. It got its present appearance in the 19th century. Nowadays, the castle is owned by the Republic of Croatia. As a part of the castle, there is a museum on four floors with a permanent exhibition…
